Parivrtta Trikonasana - Revolved Triangle Pose
This week, we’ll be working on twists! I’d like to highlight the benefits of Parivrtta Trikonasana and the general benefits of twists.
Parivrtta Trikonasana increases the blood supply to the lower part of the trunk and invigorates the abdominal organs. It tones the ankles, knees and thighs, develops the chest, and relives sciatic and arthritic pains.
The overall benefits of twisting poses:
These asanas have an overall strengthening effect on the body.
They tone the leg muscle and correct deformities in the feet, ankles and legs.
They help to get rid of constipation, acidity and improve the blood circulation and digestion. They also rectify and correct malfunctioning of the liver spleen and the kidneys.
In addition to these benefits, twists are good for stiff shoulders, hunch-back, rheumatic pains, lumbago and slipped discs.
They improve the functioning of the reproductive system, malfunctioning of the ovaries, displaced uterus and other such disorders.
They develop stamina, strength, flexibility, lightness and balance.
